FLASH: ALL THE DETAILS

Updated on June 8, 2022: Appendix Edited

INTRODUCING FANCRAZE FLASH

Flash is a proprietary™ FanCraze utility for owners of all FanCraze NFTs (including Crictos). It is a mechanism designed to encourage fans to become collectors and to build an all-round NFT collection across eras, players, countries, formats, and tournaments. Flash is a game of strategy and skill, and fans/collectors can play it year round thereby allowing them to be continually engaged with the sport.

OVERVIEW

  • Flash involves a FanCraze NFT owner submitting a set of 4-12 NFTs depending on the criteria of the specific Flash game
  • A Flash game is a time-bound event and can last anywhere between 6 hours and 48 hours
  • The criteria for submitting a set can change with every Flash game
  • Such criteria are drafted in order to ensure that retired legends and players who are not involved in current live action form an integral part of each set. Moreover, the set requirements are balanced to ensure that all types of users can participate and earn rewards irrespective of their wallet spend provided they pick the right strategy and mix of NFTs in the submitted set
  • One of the NFTs needed to complete the set has to come from a $5-10 Pack of the Day. Each Pack of the Day contains exactly 1 NFT and the user can buy 1 out of the 3-5 available Packs of the Day to complete their set

HOW TO SUBMIT A SET

  • Users will be presented a screen with slots for 4-12 NFTs with the description of the criteria for the NFTs that are eligible for each slot
  • Users can select an eligible NFT from their existing collection for a particular slot provided the NFT is not listed for sale on the marketplace
  • Alternatively, users can buy another eligible NFT from the marketplace and thereafter submit it for a particular slot
  • Once the user has submitted an NFT for each of the slots needed to complete the set for the Flash instance, the user is asked to assign 4 multipliers to any 4 of the NFTs in their set. The multipliers are 2x, 1.75x, 1.5x and 1.25x. The multipliers for the remaining NFTs in the set, if any, are given a default value of 1x
  • Once a user has submitted a set, they cannot place any of the NFTs used in the Flash game for sale on the marketplace until the Flash game is complete i.e. the NFTs are locked for the duration of the Flash game
  • FanCraze can run multiple games of Flash everyday with different criteria. At the moment, users will be able to submit one entry (i.e. set) per Flash game but over time a user can submit multiple entries (i.e. sets) per Flash game

ADDITIONAL NOTES FOR COMPLETING A SET

  • Users cannot use more than 1 NFT of the same player in their set
  • Wicketkeepers can be used in the Batter slots
  • All-Rounders cannot be used in the Batter or Bowler slots but can only be used in the All-Rounder slots, if any

PACK OF THE DAY

  • Price: $5-10 per pack
  • Users need to buy only 1 out of 3-5 available packs. Users can choose to buy more, but only one is needed to complete the set
  • Each pack contains exactly 1 Flash NFT
  • Users can view the details of the player inside each Pack Of The Day before buying
  • Pack Of The Day NFTs can only be used in their designated final slot of the set

MULTIPLIERS

  • Users typically need to assign multipliers of 2.0x, 1.75x, 1.5x, and 1.25x to 4 of the NFTs in their sets
  • The remaining NFTs will be assigned a default multiplier of 1.0x
  • The FanCraze team has the flexibility to use different multipliers for different Flash games

SWAP

  • Up until a predetermined point during the Flash game, the user can choose to swap one NFT with another NFT
  • The user will lose any points accrued by the NFT being swapped out until this point in time and will only receive points for the new NFT that is swapped in
  • A swap is not compulsory. Users may choose not to swap any of the NFTs and can retain the set they originally submitted for the entire duration of the Flash game
  • Swapping is allowed at anytime during the first innings of the respective cricket match on the day of the Flash game
  • At this point in time, users can only swap an NFT belonging to a player that is playing in the respective cricket match
  • When you swap an NFT, each of the two NFTs (the NFT that is swapped out and the NFT that is swapped in) is considered to be used once
  • When you swap out an NFT that has a multiplier attached to it, the same multiplier is transferred to the swapped in NFT. Multipliers cannot be changed mid-game

LEADERBOARD AND RESULTS

  • Users are able to view their live score by clicking on the respective Flash Game within the Active tab
  • The leaderboard is visible to all users once the game starts, irrespective of whether they have submitted a set or not
  • At the end of the Flash game, each of the NFTs in the set submitted by the user accrues points based on FanCraze’s scoring logic (see below) following which the user-selected multipliers are applied to the points accrued by each NFT
  • Finally, the points are summed up across all the NFTs in the set and a leaderboard is formed
  • Users continue to retain ownership of the NFTs they submitted as a part of the Flash game

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION

  • Users are given prizes based on their ranking on the leaderboard
  • Prizes are either scarce NFTs, FanCraze Balance, Rewards Balance, or any other worthy experience depending on the pre-communicated prize distribution
  • The final list of available prizes is only published once the Flash game has commenced
  • If two or more users end up on the same points, then the users will be ranked in the order in which they submitted their sets. Users with earlier timestamps will be ranked higher than users with later timestamps
  • Some of the prizes are in the form of FanCraze Balance which works in the same way as normal cash that you add from your bank account. We also award prizes in the form of Bonus Rewards which are currently usable to purchase Flash Packs

NFT USAGE AND RESET

  • Each NFT has a cap on the number of times it can be used within Flash
  • The cap is a function of the rarity of the NFT. For example, a Common NFT can be used 10 times, a Rare NFT can be used 25 times, and an Epic/Legendary NFT can be used infinitely without any limit
  • However, if an NFT is sold on the marketplace, the usage number resets and the new owner can use it as many times as the cap permits him or her to irrespective of how many times the NFT was used by the previous owner

FLASH NFTs

  • We understand that all users will not have robust and large NFT collections to complete sets regularly. So, we have introduced a new category of NFTs specifically for this utility. These are known as Flash NFTs
  • Users can normally buy packs of 5-15 Flash NFTs at a cost of $2.0 - $3.0 per Flash NFT (Introductory price is ~$1.6 per NFT)
  • Flash NFTs cannot be traded on the marketplace and are burned once they have been used twice
  • We have taken care to design a system wherein Common and Rare NFTs are usable 5x (10 vs. 2) and 12.5x (25 vs. 2) more than Flash NFTs. Additionally, the fact that Common and Rare NFTs are tradable whereas Flash NFTs are not should mean that the introduction of Flash NFTs does not impact the value of Common and Rare NFTs. Moreover, Common and Rare NFTs will be usable across all games in the FanCraze metaverse

DETAILED SCORING LOGIC

  • Flash is currently in Open Beta and we will work towards tweaking the scoring system to have a healthy balance across different types of users and NFT owners in the FanCraze economy
  • Slight changes may be made to the scoring system based on the usage data from early Flash games. These changes will be communicated openly and applied only after giving sufficient notice to all FanCraze users
  • Each NFT can accrue a maximum of 100 points. The points (out of 100) are then scaled by the user-selected multiplier for that particular NFT

BREAKDOWN OF THE 100 POINTS THAT EACH NFT CAN ACCRUE

Factor 1 - NFT Level: 25 points

  • If the player is playing the relevant cricket match on the day of the Flash, then the NFT accrues points as follows:
    - Level 1:          19 points
    - Level 2:         22 points
    - Level 3:         25 points
  • If the player is NOT playing the relevant cricket match on the day of the Flash, then NFT accrues points as follows:
    - Level 1:          25 points
    - Level 2:         22 points
    - Level 3:         19 points

Factor 2 - NFT Rarity: 25 points

  • Legendary:      25 points
  • Epic:                 25 points
  • Rare:                21 points
  • Common:         17 points
  • Flash NFT:       17 points

Note: Based on user feedback, we have slightly modified the scoring system in order to ensure that, if all else is equal, then bottom serial# Epic NFTs score more than top serial# Rare NFTs, bottom serial# Rare NFTs score more than top serial# Common NFTs, and bottom serial# Common NFTs score more than Flash NFTs

Factor 3 - NFT Serial Number: 20 points

  • Top 25%:            20 points
  • Middle 50%:       18 points
  • Bottom 25%:      17 points
  • Flash NFT:          16 points

Factor 4 - Interactive Score: 25 points

  • The interactive score points are based on the rank achieved by the NFT as follows:
    - Rank 1:              25 points
    - Rank 2:              20 points
    - Rank 3:              16 points
    - Rank 4:              12 points
    - Rank 5-6:           9 points
    - Rank 7-8:           6 points
    - Rank 9-11:          3 points
    - Rank 12-16:        2 points
    - Rank 17-22+:      1 point
  • If the player is playing the relevant cricket match on the day of the Flash, then for Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Flash NFTs:
    - Interactive Score points are based on ranks determined by the scoring system provided in the Appendix below
  • If the player is NOT playing the relevant cricket match on the day of the Flash, then for Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary NFTs:
    - Interactive Score points are based on ranks determined by the marketplace activity of the NFT
    - Marketplace activity is defined as (Number of transactions for the particular NFT) divided by (Number of released copies of the NFT)
    - Only those transactions will be counted per NFT that were executed above 50% of the cut-off price for that NFT
    - The cut-off price is equal to the weighted average price of all transactions of the NFT before the start of the Flash
  • If the player is NOT playing the relevant cricket match on the day of the Flash, then for Flash NFTs:
    - Interactive Score points are awarded based on the NFT Class as follows:
              - NFT Class: Matchwinner, Spearhead, Maestro:               20 points
              - NFT Class: Hitter, Workhorse, Spinner:                             16 points
              - NFT Class: Accumulator, Pie Chucker, Dibbly Dobbly:     12 points

Factor 5 - Winning Team / Badges: 5 points

  • If the player is playing the relevant cricket match on the day of the Flash:
    - If the player was a part of the team that won the cricket match, then the NFT accrues 5 points
    - If the player was NOT a part of the team that won the cricket match, then the NFT accrues 0 points
  • If the player is NOT playing the relevant cricket match on the day of the Flash, then the points accrue based on the badges as follows:
    - Player of the Tournament:         5 points
    - Golden Bat:                                 4 points
    - Golden Ball:                                 4 points
    - World Champion:                        3 points
    - World Cup Final:                         2 points
    - World Cup Semi Final:                1 point
    - Player of the Match:                   1 point

Note: If an NFT has multiple badges, we will only count the points for the highest scoring badge

Cheat Sheet For Points Factor #4
1. Playing Slot in the Set + All NFT Rarities --> Interactive Score is based on Match Rank
2. Non-Playing Slot in the Set + Common/Rare/Epic Legendary Rarities --> Interactive Score is based on Marketplace Activity Rank
3. Non-Playing Slot in the Set + Flash Rarity --> Interactive Score is based on NFT Class

Note: For a playing slot, if a player is in the squad but not in the playing XI, then Interactive score = 0

Cheat Sheet for Points Factor #5
1. Playing Slot in the Set + All NFT rarities --> Winning Team Points
2. Non-Playing Slot in the Set + All NFT rarities --> Badges Points

Note: For a playing slot, if a player is in the squad but not in the playing XI, he will still get Winning Team points
