FanCraze has introduced a new feature called "Burn & Earn Essence," where you can burn certain collectibles and receive Essence. But what does it mean to "burn" a collectible?
Simply put, burning is the process of permanently removing a collectible from existence, effectively reducing the serial numbers in circulation for that collectible group.
What is Burn & Earn Essence?
Burn & Earn Essence allows users to burn eligible collectibles to receive Essence of a higher rarity. This earned Essence can then be used to mint In-Season (E4) collectibles in Mint Factory. The amount of Essence earned is based on the FC Score of the burned collectible.
How Does It Work?
- Burn Eligible Collectibles: Users can burn multiple moments at the same time, regardless of rarity.
- Earn Essence Based on FC Score: The Essence received depends on the FC Score of the moment being burned.
- Use Essence in Mint Factory: The earned Essence can be utilized in Mint Factory to mint new collectibles.
- Monitor Max Essence Balance: Users should be mindful of max Essence limits for each rarity, as exceeding them will not add to the balance.
Essence Calculation Breakdown
Each burned moment generates Essence based on its FC Score:
Flash Cards
- Formula: 0.4 Common Essence per 1 FC Score
- Example:
- If a Flash Card has an FC Score of 15, the user earns 6 Common Essence (15 * 0.4 = 6).
- If a Flash Card has an FC Score of 47, the user earns 19 Common Essence (47 * 0.4 = 18.8, rounded up).
Common Moments:
- Formula: 0.12 Rare Essence per 1 FC Score
- Example:
- If a Common Moment has an FC Score of 100, the user earns 12 Rare Essence.
- If a Common Moment has an FC Score of 290, the user earns 35 Rare Essence. (290 * 0.12 = 34.8, rounded up).
Rare Moments:
- Formula: 0.04 Rare Essence per 1 FC Score
- Example:
- If a Rare Moment has an FC Score of 400, the user earns 16 Epic Essence (400 * 0.04 = 16).
- If a Rare Moment has an FC Score of 1490, the user earns 60 Epic Essence (1490 * 0.04 = 59.6, rounded up).
Epic Moments:
- Epic Moments cannot be burned. These can only be updated via Swaps or Upgrades.
Max Essence Balance Limits
To maintain a balanced ecosystem, FanCraze has set max Essence balance limits for each rarity. If users exceed these limits, additional burns will not contribute to their Essence balance.
- Flash Essence: 15,000
- Common Essence: 8,000
- Rare Essence: 4,000
- Epic Essence: 2,000
Note:
- If a user has already reached the max Essence limit for a rarity, further burns won’t increase their Essence balance.
- The system will warn users before burning collectibles when their max Essence balance is already reached.
What Cannot Be Burned?
- Flash Cards with ≤ 5 CP
- On-Loan Flash Cards
- On-Loan Pro Collectibles
- Epic Collectibles
Why Burn & Earn Essence Is Exciting?
- Convert Lower Value Collectibles Into Minting Power: Users can turn moments with lower FC Scores into Essence, which can then be used to mint new, potentially more valuable moments.
- Optimize Collection Strategy: Burn lower-value moments to make space for higher-value ones.
- Mint Latest Edition Collectibles: Use earned Essence to mint In-Season (E4) collectibles.
- Strategic Collectible Management: Decide which collectibles to burn for maximum returns.
- Fair and Transparent System: The Essence earned is directly proportional to the FC Score, which ensures fairness across different rarity levels.
